Entrants are put into a ladder of sorts (based on your self-assessment and our guesswork)
The ladder is divided into groups of four or five players
You play everyone in your group within a month
Games are arranged between you and your opponent at a mutually convenient time
At the end of the month the scores are totalled up and group winners move into the group above and group losers move into the group below (exceptions being made for the top and bottom groups)
You then play everyone in your new group
You will automatically be added to the next month cycle so please tell us if you can't play
You can pull out at any time provided you've played all your matches and paid your departure tax
And so it goes. Changes to the league may be needed as it expands and interest surges; we'll let everybody know through the website, the notice board at the club and emails. If you do not check your email regularly, please let us know and we'll SMS you instead.
Scoring: Matches will be best of five games using the standard scoring system (up to 9)
Scores must be submitted by the end of each month
1 point per game; 1 bonus point for playing a match. E.g.: for a 3-2 result, the winner gets 3 points and the loser gets 2 and they each get 1 bonus point for playing.
Enter your scores on the sheet provided at notice board
Fines: random fines will be administered for arbitrary reasons in an entirely haphazard and crooked manner. These fines will be imposed and recorded by your fellow players so be sure give as good as you get. See Appendix A: Fines.
While there is no set night for social squash we recommend you book your courts in advance and try to play on Fridays when you can use the hospitality of the SFC Bar.
